Dr. Teoman Demir, M.D.
Dr. Teoman Demir is a board certified in general surgery specializing in laparoscopic surgery. He earned his undergraduate degree from Western Maryland College. Dr. Demir graduated from Texas Tech School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas and completed his surgical residency at Texas Tech School of Medicine in El Paso. He also completed a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Detroit Medical Center. He has been in practice for 19 years, 14 of those years in Northwest Indiana. He is also licensed in Maryland, where he practiced for several years. Dr. Demir is Vice-Chairman of the Surgery Department at St. Catherine Hospital, a member of the Quality Coordinating Counsel, Physician Hospital Organization, and Chairman of the Department of Surgery Sub-Audit Committee, which performs the function of peer review at St. Catherine Hospital. Dr. Demir is a dedicated surgeon who cares deeply about each and every patient and their well-being. He and his wife, Bernadette, are parents of 3 children. Dr. Demir is an avid soccer player and cyclist. He completed an Ironman and is an accomplished marathon runner.
Dr. Anne Dempsey, M.D.
Dr. Anne Dempsey is a board certified general surgeon with over 17 years of surgical experience. She grew up in Colorado and attended Colorado State University for her undergraduate degree. She received her medical degree and completed her surgical residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Her favorite part of practicing medicine is the relationship she develops with her patients. She enjoys educating the patient about their disease process and encouraging them to take an active role in their treatment plan. She is married to her best friend and surgical partner, Dr. Terrance Dempsey. She and her husband are very active in the community and never miss a chance to attend the sporting events and other activites of their three beautiful children. She enjoys reading, running, and skiing.
Dr. Terrence Dempsey, M.D.
With over 17 years of experience, Dr. Terrence Dempsey provides his patients state of the art, quality surgical care with a patient centered focus that helps to reduce the anxiety associated with health related problems. Dr. Dempsey received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame before attending the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of Kansas in Wichita. Dr. Dempsey is board certified in general surgery. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Breast Cancer. Dr. Dempsey is also Chairman of the Community Surgical Center Quality Committee, member of the Munster Community Hospital Quality Committee, and member of the Physicians Advisory Council for Electronic Medical Records. Dr. Dempsey has practiced in Northwest Indiana for almost 15 years. He is married to his surgical partner and best friend, Dr. Anne Dempsey. They have three beautiful children.
Dr. Russell Pellar, M.D.
Dr. Russell Pellar is a board certified general surgeon with over 30 years of experience. He is passionate about patient care and takes time to develop relationships built on trust and respect. His goal is to deliver the best possible result using minimally invasive surgical approaches to each patient and their condition. Dr. Pellar is a graduate of the University of Colorado. He attended medical school at Indiana University before completing his residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Association of Robotic Surgery, and the Society of Breast Cancer. Dr. Pellar is the Director of the Community Surgery Center and Treasurer and Secretary for the Cancer Research Foundation. He participates weekly in the Community Hospital Breast Cancer Conference. Dr. Pellar is an exercise enthusiast. He has completed several marathons, triathlons, and two Ironmen. When he isn’t riding his bike, swimming, or out on a run he enjoys spending time with his wife, Ann, and their 4 children and 5 grandchildren.
